Erickson Traded to Ontario

South Carolina Stingrays News Release
North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Cail MacLean announced today that goaltender Beau Erickson has been traded to the Ontario Reign for future considerations.
Erickson, 24, appeared in two games with the Stingrays last season going 2-0-0 with a .50 goals-against average and a .973 save percentage. The Hinton, IA native also dressed in 17 games with the Utah Grizzlies and five games with the Reading Royals. While with the Grizzlies, Erickson earned a 5-7-3 record with a GAA of 3.32 and a save percentage of .899. Prior to turning pro, Erickson played three seasons at the University of Connecticut going 29-46-7 with a college career-best 2.92 GAA in 2006-2007 and a .913 save percentage in 2007-2008. Erickson served as an assistant captain during his senior season and established the team record for saves in a season with 947 in 2007-2008.

The Stingrays drop the puck on their 18th season of hockey in the Low Country on Friday, October 22 against the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:35 p.m. at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. Opening Weekend is set for Friday, November 5, Saturday, November 6 and Sunday, November 7 against the Florida Everblades at 7:05 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at North Charleston Coliseum.
