Reign Seeking Local Talent

September 17, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Ontario Reign News Release

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings, are seeking local talent to participate in next week's free agent open tryouts. They will be held on Friday, September 24 and Saturday, September 25.

The open FA tryout camp offers players the opportunity to show the Reign coaching staff their skills for a chance at receiving an invitation to the 2010-11 Ontario Reign training camp which runs for two weeks beginning October 1. Reign head coach, Karl Taylor will be running the tryouts on both days.

"The ECHL is a competitive league," said Reign coach, Karl Taylor. "We need to be aggressive in identifying and signing talented players in order stay ahead of the pack."

Goalie spots are filled, however we still have spots open for skaters. The cost is $150 per player and includes two games, two practices, off-ice coaching sessions and a jersey. Player transportation to and from tryouts, accommodations and meals are the responsibility of the attending player. All players must be 18 years of age or older and no participant may be under contract with any other professional team or league at the "AA" level or higher (NHL, AHL, ECHL or Central Hockey League). Participating players are required to bring full equipment (including half-visor/shield for skaters and mask for goaltenders).

Players participating in the Free Agent Tryout Camp are eligible for a discounted hotel rate of $65 per night at the Sheraton Ontario Airport Hotel in Ontario, California. Reservations can be made by calling (800) 325-3535 or locally at (909) 937-8000 and mention the group rate code "Ontario Reign".
