Charleston, WV (September 15, 2010) - The West Virginia Power released their 2011 schedule today which opens at home on Thursday, April 7.
The 2011 season marks the seventh season of Power baseball at Appalachian Power Park. The team opens the season at home with an eight game series against the Savannah Sand Gnats and the Ashville Tourists. The team will then hit the road for nine games against Augusta and Kannapolis before returning home to take on the Hagerstown Suns. This series against the Suns, Class A Affiliate of the Washington Nationals, is expected to showcase Bryce Harper, the 2010 No. 1 overall draft pick of the Nationals.
2011 brings every team from the Southern Division except the Greenville Drive and the Rome Braves through Charleston, giving Power fans the opportunity to see the up and coming major league stars for the Astros, Giants, Mets, Rockies, and Yankees. Promotionally, the Power are currently finalizing the 2011 calendar which will feature many of the time-tested promotions as well as some exciting new additions.
This fall, many more exciting announcements will be made including the date individual game tickets go on sale.
