Hermsen, Tonkin Head to E-Town

The Minnesota Twins are shuffling the Beloit Snappers roster once again as right handed pitchers B.J. Hermsen and Michael Tonkin have been sent to short season Elizabethton. The Snappers will add lefty reliever Nelvin Fuentes and right hander Matthew Hauser to fill the Snappers roster, as Chris Armstrong was released by the organization.

Hermsen in 12 games where he started all 12 went 4-6 with an ERA of 5.00. The sixth ranked best player in the Twins organization according to Baseball America best game came on June, 17th where he played in front of his hometown crowd where he pitched a one-hit shutout against the Cedar Rapids Kernels.

In 13 games with the Snappers Tonkin (3-6) struck out 40 batters and only walked 18 in 65 innings pitched.

With Elizabethton, Fuentes pitched in nine games with a no win-loss record as he struck out 20 batters in 14 2/3 innings while accumulating an ERA of 0.61.

The University of San Diego product Matthew Hauser saw eight games before getting the move to Beloit where he pitched nine innings while recording three save with 13 strike outs.
