Bandits Victimized by TinCap Bats in 10-8 Loss

Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
DAVENPORT, Iowa - Despite scoring eight runs, the River Bandits were unable to top the Fort Wayne TinCaps falling 10-8 on Sunday at Modern Woodmen Park. Quad Cities fell behind 2-0 in the first inning but they were able to take a 4-3 lead after scoring four in the third. The TinCaps answered with six runs in the fourth and held on to their lead through the remaining five innings.
Matt Adams and Alan Ahmady led the way for Quad Cities offensively contributing six of the Bandits 16 hits. Adams went 3-for-4 with three doubles and two RBI in the loss, while Ahmady was 3-for-6 with a pair of RBI as well. Ahmady has seven hits in the first two games of the series with Fort Wayne. Devin Goodwin chipped in with three hits of his own, all of which were singles. Goodwin crossed the plate twice for the Bandits. Ryan Jackson and Robert Stock each added a pair of base knocks. Jackson drove in two runs in the 2-for-4 performance and Stock scored twice in his 2-for-5 night.
Eric Fornataro (7-8) was charged with his eighth loss of the season after he was hit for nine runs on 10 hits. Fornataro surrendered three runs through the first three innings but was charged with six in the fourth. Dan Calhoun was first in relief for the Bandits. He stopped the bleeding surrendering just one run through 1.2 innings of work. Jesse Simpson and Jason Novak combined for the final 2.2 innings without surrendering a hit.
The River Bandits finish their series with the TinCaps on Monday afternoon. Quad Cities will send right-hander Jorge Rondon (3-5) to the hill. Rondon will face-off with south paw Nick Greenwood (4-4) from Fort Wayne. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. at Modern Woodmen Park with the gates set to open at 11:30 a.m.
