Kannapolis Comes to Augusta for First Time

Augusta, GA- The Augusta GreenJackets return home from Lexington to face the Kannapolis Intimidators, the first time this season the GreenJackets host Kannapolis. In Kannapolis, the GreenJackets scored 45 runs in only five games, and look to do even better with home-field advantage.

Also, GreenJackets manager Dave Machemer is nearing yet another milestone. With 1394 minor league managerial wins, Mac is closing in on 1400.

Below is a listing of ballpark activities and promotions for the upcoming homestand:

Thursday July 8th (7:05 vs. Kannapolis) - Thirsty Thursday presented by Somewhere in Augusta and 95 Rock. The night will be Rodeo-themed and fans are encouraged to wear their best rodeo duds. The staff will be dressed to impress, and the night will be filled country music galore.

Friday July 9th (7:05 vs. Kannapolis) - Nerd Night in the ballpark! Fans, raid your closet to come up with the nerdiest get-up you can find. Myron Noodleman, the "new clown prince of baseball," will be on hand to show all those in attendance what a real nerd looks like. Nerd-themed games will be played throughout the game.

Saturday July 10th (7:05 vs. Kannapolis) - Come out to celebrate Military Appreciation Night with the GreenJackets! The players will wear camouflage jerseys which will be auctioned off throughout the game. Winners will be announced after the game with their proceeds benefiting Fisher's House. The GreenJackets would like to thank various businesses throughout the CSRA for making this night possible.

Sunday July 11th (5:35 vs. Kannapolis) - Kids Eat Free at the ballpark on Sunday's, thanks to the Augusta Chronicle. Bring the whole gang to experience the exciting atmosphere of a GreenJackets game!

Monday July 12th (12:05 vs. Kannapolis) - The GreenJackets staff presents Super Splash Day! Lake Olmstead Stadium will be turned into a water park to help cool young fans off. Nothing is better than watching a baseball game while feeling refreshed! Don't want to get wet? Don't worry - we will have dry areas as well. Wear your bathing suits if you want to be soaked! The game will also feature $1 hotdogs.
