Kamloops, BC - Kamloops Blazers Vice President and General Manager Craig Bonner has announced that the hockey club has chosen Bernhard Keil from Anberg, Germany with the 22nd pick in the 2010 CHL Import Draft.

Keil, who is 6'2" and 205lbs, played this past season for Jungadler Mannheim in a junior league in Germany. The right shot forward led his team in scoring with 26 goals and 50 assists for 76 points, as well as 119 penalty minutes in 34 games this season.

The 1992 born forward represented Germany at the U-18 Division 1 World Championships where he had 4 goals and 11 points in only 5 games. Keil was also ranked #62 among European skaters in Central Scouting's final rankings, but was not selected in the NHL Draft this year.

"We are excited about the addition of Bernhard to our organization," Bonner said. "He is a big strong forward that has put up good numbers throughout his junior career. We look forward to Bernhard joining our team this upcoming season."

This is the second time the Blazers have picked a German player in the CHL Import Draft. The hockey club chose Nils Anton with the 68th pick in the 1996 CHL Import Draft.
