Three Fireworks Shows, a Giveaway and More Wackiness to Take Place During Upcoming Homestand

CURVE, Pa. - The first-place Altoona Curve, who come home a season-high 21-games over .500, return to Blair County Ballpark to open up a six-game homestand that features three fireworks shows, a Curve, PA Poster Giveaway and another Wacky Wednesday with Condiment Wars. The Portland Sea Dogs (AA - Boston Red Sox) will be in town for the first three games on Tuesday through Thursday while the Bowie Baysox (AA - Baltimore Orioles) come to town over the weekend.

A Two-for-Tuesday presented by Atlantic Broadband and KRAFT Singles kicks off the homestand on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. contest versus the Sea Dogs. Fans can receive two-for-one offers on tickets, hot dogs and popcorn for Tuesday night's game.

The first of three fireworks shows on the homestand will take place on Wednesday night following the 7 p.m. game at BCB. During the game, the Curve will continue its Wacky Wednesday nights with this week's theme being Condiment Wars where the Curve will hopefully settle the dispute as to which condiments reign supreme. Cresson Community night will take place at the ballpark on Wednesday.

A special day game will be played on Thursday as the Curve and Sea Dogs will play the final game of the series at 12 p.m. The Belmar Hotel and Furrer Beverage present a special Thirsty Thursday as fans will not only enjoy 16 oz. Bud Light drafts for just $2 during the game at the ballpark, but those age 21 and over will also be able to take home a pint glass with the purchase of a beer on the party deck. The drink specials include 22 oz. sodas for just $1.50, as well. That night from 5-7 p.m., select Curve players will be celebrity bartenders at The Belmar with their tips going to charity!

Friday night's game with the Baysox will begin at 7 p.m. and also have the second fireworks show of the homestand following the game. It will be Tyrone Community Night at Blair County Ballpark as we welcome in resides from Tyrone. Kids can run the bases at the conclusion of the game.

The second Curve, PA Poster Giveaway will be handed out to the first 2,000 fans through the gates on Saturday with this one featuring the players and staff of the 2010 team cartoon-style. Saturday is also Family Faith Night presented by the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown with a pregame Catholic Mass taking place at the ballpark. The mass will begin promptly at 4:30 p.m. and will be open to those with tickets to Saturday night's game versus Bowie.

Curve Season Ticket Holders will also have a special pregame autograph session with the team before Saturday night's game. Kids can once again run the bases after the 7 p.m. game.

Sunday Night Fireworks brought to you by the Ramada Altoona will conclude the six-game homestand and will follow the 6 p.m. game. Sunday is Somerset County Community Night as well as a Galliker's Kids' Club Sunday. Kids can also run the bases at the conclusion of the game.
