TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Binghamton Mets will meet in the finale of a three-game series...The B-Mets scored nine unanswered runs and turned a 2-2 tie into an 11-2 rout in game two of the three-game set on Wednesday night at The Diamond.

TONIGHT'S STARTERS: Right-hander Felix Romero gets the start in the finale of the series for the Flying Squirrels...Made his first start of the season 6/12 at Reading and received a no-decision...Allowed three runs, two earned, on six hits over four innings...Struck out three and walked two...Threw 72 pitches, 41 strikes...All three runs and four of six hits he allowed came in the fourth inning...Recorded six ground outs and two fly outs...Start was his first since 8/21/08 against Toledo while with Triple-A Norfolk...Matched the longest outing of his career with the four innings of work...Sixth time in his career he went four innings...Last time he went four innings was 8/14/05 against Potomac while with Advanced-A Wilmington...Began the season with Triple-A Fresno and appeared in seven games going 0-0 with a 6.52 ERA...Spent all of 2009 with Fresno and appeared in 50 games, all in relief and second-most on the club (Geno Espineli - 52)...Went 5-5 with a 4.28 ERA...Struck out 69 batters and walked 16 over 73 2/3 innings...Signed by the San Francisco Giants as a minor league free agent December 18, 2008...Originally signed as a non-drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 1998...Has spent time with the Blue Jays, Red Sox, Orioles, and Giants organizations over his nine-year professional career...Did not play in 2006.

Left-hander Eric Niesen gets the nod in the finale of the three-game series for the B-Mets...Allowed three runs on two hits in just 1 1/3 innings and suffered the loss in his last start 6/11 at Trenton...Walked four batters and hit one while not striking out any...Outing matched his shortest of the season...Is 1-1 with a 3.14 ERA since coming off of the DL (9R/5ER in 14 1/3 IP)...Came off of the DL 5/26 against Richmond...Allowed one unearned without giving up a hit in 3 1/3 innings...Walked three batters and struck out one...Start was his first since 4/23 against New Hampshire...Allowed two runs on two hits in 1 1/3 innings in his last outing...Struck out two and walked two...Has gone five innings this season...Has struck out 21 batters, walked 24 and has hit eight batters including four in his lone win 6/5 at New Britain...Split last season between Advanced-A St. Lucie and Double-A Binghamton...Was 4-7 with a 4.66 ERA in 16 starts after being promoted to the B-Mets...Struck out 85 batters and walked 41 in 83 innings...Went 3-4 with a 3.28 ERA in 11 starts with St. Lucie...Named a Florida State League Mid-Season All-Star...Led all New York Mets farm hands with 134 strike outs...Spent all of 2008 with Advanced-A St. Lucie and went 6-12 with a 4.64 ERA in 26 games including 24 starts...Allowed 136 hits in 118 1/3 innings...Selected by the New York Mets in the third round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft...Attended Wake Forrest University...Enters 2010 rated as the #24 prospect in the New York Mets farm system according to Baseball America.

O-VERWHELMED: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff gave up 11 runs on 18 hits in last night's 11-2 to the B-Mets...The 11 runs allowed matched a season high as the club also gave up 11 runs on 6/11 at Reading which was Mike MacDonald's last start...The 18 hits allowed were a new season high...The most hits previously allowed in a game was 16 on 5/19 against Erie....MacDonald's 10 hits allowed matched his own season high for a Richmond pitcher.

ERROR REPORT: The Flying Squirrels have committed at least one error over the past five games including three errors in the contest against Binghamton 6/16...It was the fourth time Richmond had committed three or more errors in a game as the club fell to 0-4 when it does...The club has committed eight errors total over the last five games...Prior to the string of errors, the Flying Squirrels had went a season-long six games without an error...Richmond is tied with New Hampshire for fourth in the Eastern League in fielding percentage (.982)...The 46 errors committed by the club are also tied with New Hampshire for the fourth fewest.

WELCOME BACK: Outfielder Roger Kieschnick is 5-for-14 (.357) with two doubles, two RBI, and a run scored in four games since coming off of the DL 6/13...He has also walked twice and has struck out twice...The 23-year-old matched a season-high with three hits 6/16 against Binghamton...He is also 2-for-4 with runners in scoring position since coming off of the DL...Kieschnick was 5-for-45 (.111) with runners in scoring position prior to going on the DL...He officially missed 16 games after being placed on the Disabled List 5/28 with back spasms.

FORD-ITUDE: Outfielder Darren Ford has hits in a season-best five consecutive games...The 24-year-old is 10-for-27 (.370) at the plate over his last six contests with two doubles, two triples, two home runs, four RBI, and five runs scored...His 19 stolen bases put him in a three-way tie for third in the Eastern League...Ford leads the league with 28 stolen base attempts and also caught stealing (9).

AMBUSH: First baseman Michael Ambort has a five-game hit streak including multi-hit games in four of those five games...The 25-year-old is 9-for-21 (.429) at the plate over his last five games with two doubles, a home run, six RBI, and five runs scored...He has hits in nine of the 10 games he has played in since coming off of the Disabled List 6/3...Ambort is batting .342 (13-for-38) over that span with three doubles, a home run, nine RBI and nine runs scored...He has also scored at least one run in each of his last seven games.

DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 83 double plays in 66 games including six on 5/7 in Harrisburg...The club leads the Eastern League in double plays turned and has not gone more than two games without turning a double play.

CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: The Flying Squirrels dropped to 1-12 with right-hander Mike MacDonald on the mound...The lone win for Richmond with MacDonald on the mound came 4/30 against Bowie.
