Z's Get Swept in Doubleheader

Game Keys - Doug Mathis and Michael Ballard delivered complete game wins for Oklahoma City on Wednesday night completing a doubleheader sweep of the visiting Zephyrs at Bricktown Ballpark. The Redhawks utilized a Jarrod Saltalamacchia home run in game one to defeat the Zephyrs 4-1. Sean West pitched a complete game for the Z's in the loss. In game two Ballard silenced the New Orleans bats with four hits in the shutout. Oklahoma City sent ten batters to the plate in the second inning scoring seven runs. Adalberto Mendez took the loss for the Z's. Ryan Garko drilled a solo home run for the Hawks. The Zephyrs were swept in a doubleheader for the first time this season and fall to 6.5 games back of first place Redhawks.

Game Notes- Logan Morrison 23 game on base streak and 8 game hit streak were both snapped in game one of the twin bill. Morrison did have a pair of hits in the second game and has 13 multi hit games this season. The shutout for the Zephyrs is the third time this season. The Z's have now swept a team in a doubleheader and have been swept this season. The Z's swept Portland in May.

Coming Up: The Zephyrs and Redhawks will wrap up the series on Thursday at 7pm. New Orleans will start RH Rick VandenHurk (4-3, 4.86) vs. RH Guillermo Moscoso (3-2, 3.80). RADIO 106.1 FM
