B.C. Lions News Release

(Kamloops) After a one-day reprieve from two-a-day practices the Lions were back on the field for two sessions Thursday. When the team did hit the field at picturesque Hillside Stadium, rest was repaid with a crisp performance on both sides of the ball.

Practice Notes: With nine practices under their collective belts personnel evaluations were turned over to a select number of players. On offence, veteran slotback Geroy Simon notes the reenergized secondary and noted the standout play of safety Tad Crawford along with newcomer Stanley Franks. The later had an interception of Casey Printers in the first go-around this morning.

Offensive lineman Justin Sorensen has been very impressed with the trimmed-down Aaron Hunt as well as the speed of Keron Williams off the edge. "He's a beast," notes Sorensen.

Defensively, the aforementioned Stanley Franks notes the play of first year wideouts Tony Washington and Robert Jordan. "Tony is very technical and has some very good hands while Robert has deceptive speed; you can't take your eyes of either of them."

Disagreements: One scuffle of note saw Sherko Haji-Rasouli with a decision over Jeremy Gibbs. The veteran Haji-Rasouli going to the body early was likely the difference.

Watching: Solomon Elimimian (hamstring), Richard Jones (hamstring), Steve Williams (groin),Paris Jackson (knee - second session), Dominie Pittman (stinger).

Food Fare: Lunch at Thompson Rivers University consisted of beef dip, wedge fries, salad and desserts. Dinner was roasted chicken, rice and salads. On a related food note, TEAM 1410 colour man Giulio Caravatta inquired about the meal on charter flight slated for Sunday morning.

Spotted: Lions director of player personnel, Roy Shivers arrived in camp Thursday afternoon.
