Rush Players Tour Local Hospital with President's Cup

(Rapid City, SD) - Yesterday, Rush players decided to share the President's Cup with the Rapid City community, beginning with a tour of Rapid City Regional Hospital. Riley Weselowski and Rich Hansen spearheaded the tour in what will be the first of many throughout the Black Hills.
"We thank Rapid City Rush players Rich Hansen and Riley Weselowski for making a special trip to visit patients at Rapid City Regional Hospital today," said Charles E. Hart, M.D., M.S., President and CEO of Regional Health. "The team members, who brought their CHL Championship Cup for all to see, brought our patients and staff much joy. The fact that the Rush organization requested to make this visit on its own demonstrates the team's strong commitment to our community. We congratulate the Rush on its fantastic season and championship victory."
Weselowski and Hansen spent three hours touring many wings of the hospital, including Pediatrics, in-patient cancer care, the orthopedic and neurology surgical areas, Cancer Care Institute and Regional Rehabilitation Institute. Pediatric patients received stuffed Nugget dolls and mini hockey sticks. Several adult patients received player photograph pins. The players spread cheer throughout the hospital allowing patients and staff to see the CHL Championship Cup and pose in photographs with them.
"The Rush has given the city something to look forward to," said patient Jeramy Amiotte. "It was really nice of them to take time to come to the hospital and visit all of us."
The Rush plan to continue touring the President's Cup throughout Rapid City and the entire Black Hills area.
