TITANS STILL CONTROL OWN DESTINY

Although the Titans suffered a devastating loss last week to the Washington Stealth, it is interesting to note that Orlando is still in the driver's seat in the East Division. Thanks to Buffalo's 13-10 win over Toronto, the Titans still enjoy a full game lead over the Rock and have game-and-a-half lead over Buffalo, Boston and Rochester. The Titans would also own the tiebreakers over Rochester and Toronto, should those teams finish with the same record as the Titans. An Orlando win on Friday combined with a Boston loss, would also guarantee a first round home playoff game. Finally, a win on Friday and a Boston loss to Colorado or a Rochester loss to Toronto, would clinch an East Division crown for the Titans. Orlando can also clinch the East with two wins in their final three games. "Last week's loss was tough, but it's important to remember that is counts as just one loss," Titans Head Coach Ed Comeau said. "And it was a non-division loss on top of it. Obviously we did not play well last week, but we're still in position to win our division."

LAST WEEK IN REVIEW: TITANS LOSE AN UGLY ONE

In what turned out to be the second worst loss in Titans franchise history, Orlando dropped an ugly 17-7 home decision to the Washington Stealth. The game started off well enough, as Casey Powell scored an early goal that was later over-ruled after Washington called for a review. Still, Orlando managed to take a 1-0 lead a few minutes later on Matt McLellan's goal at the 9:56 mark of the first quarter. Unfortunately, that would be the end of the highlights for the Titans. After a relatively low-scoring first quarter that saw Washington clinging to a 2-1 lead, the Stealth started pouring it on in the second stanza, grabbing a 9-4 halftime lead. Cam Sedgwick, Lewis Ratcliff and game-MVP Duch Rhys would all score hat tricks as the Stealth coasted to the easy win. "I am not sure why, but when we fell behind 2-1, we started playing like we were down by a dozen," Titans head coach Ed Comeau said. "Take nothing away from Washington, they earned their goals and their breaks. It just seemed like we were spectators."

HOME TEAMS FIND SLEDDING ROUGH IN NLL

Orlando's loss to Washington just adds to the notion that home field advantage in the National Lacrosse League is practically non-existent this year. Through 78 games this season, the home team is 42-36 (a respectable .535 winning percentage), but since Feb. 19, NLL home teams have won just 17 of 42 games (a .405 winning percentage).
