(TOLEDO, OH) - The Toledo Mud Hens will start the 2010 campaign on Thursday, April 8 at Fifth Third Field at 5:30 pm versus the Louisville Bats. The team plays their first six games at home (4 vs. Louisville and 2 vs. Indianapolis) before taking to the road for an eight-game trip (April 14-21). The team will have a nice combination of prospects, veterans, and many familiar faces.

Toledo has five consecutive winning seasons for the first time since 1896-1901. Toledo is the Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers (since 1987) and have a record of 606-540 (.529) since moving downtown to Fifth Third Field.

The team will be lead by Manager Larry Parrish, returning for his seventh season at the helm. The 56-year-old led the club to Governors' Cup championships in 2005 & 2006 and has guided the club to a 499-478 record (.511) since 2003. Parrish currently ranks 2nd in Toledo history in total wins (Cal Ermer - 540).

Hitting Coach Leon "Bull" Durham (10th season), Pitching Coach A.J. Sager (3rd season), Athletic Trainer Matt Rankin (10th season), and Strength Coach Jovon Hubbard (2nd season) round out the field staff.

2010 Toledo Mud Hens Pitchers: RHP Scot Drucker (27) returns to Toledo after a 2009 season that saw him go 8-3 with a 4.78 ERA in 29 games (16 starts). Drucker is entering his 7th professional season. He was originally drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 13th round of the 2004 draft.

LHP Phil Dumatrait joins the club as a free agent this season. The 28-year-old former 1st round pick (Boston-2000) battled some injuries last season and was limited to just 22 appearances. Dumatrait has pitched with Indianapolis and Louisville in the International League and Pittsburgh and Cincinnati at the major league level.

RHP Casey Fien (27) appeared in 41 games with Toledo last season (14 saves) and made his major league debut with Detroit (9 games). Fien is a 20th round pick of the Tigers in 2006.

RHP Alfredo Figaro is in his 7th professional season. The 25-year-old from Samana, Dominican Republic went 6-3 in 16 games for Double-A Erie last season and went 2-2 with a 6.35 ERA in five games (3 starts) with Detroit.

RHP Armando Galarraga is in his 3rd season with the Detroit Tigers. The 28-year-old from Venezuela went 6-10 with a 5.64 ERA in 29 games last season with Detroit. He started the 2008 campaign with Toledo, going 2-0 in his two starts.

RHP Enrique Gonzalez is in his first season with Detroit after pitching last year for Triple-A Pawtucket (8-11, 5.12 ERA) and two games with Boston. Gonzalez (27) has pitched with Arizona and San Diego as well in the major leagues and is in his 12th professional season.

RHP Ruddy Lugo (29) will find a spot in the rotation in his second year with the Tigers. The younger brother of SS Julio Lugo, Ruddy went 13-9 in 25 starts last year with Toledo, leading the International League in wins.

RHP Josh Rainwater (24) split the 2009 campaign between Double-A Erie (2-1, 2.59 ERA in 22 games) and Toledo (1-3, 5.76 ERA in 17 games). Rainwater is a 4th round pick of the Tigers (2000 draft).

RHP Jay Sborz is entering his 8th professional season. The 25-year-old spent most of the 2009 season with Double-A Erie but also appeared in two games with Toledo. He also missed five weeks with an oblique strain. Sborz was selected by Detroit in the 2nd round of the 2003 draft by Detroit.

LHP Daniel Schlereth was acquired from Arizona last year in the deal that sent Curtis Granderson to New York. The 23-year-old made his major league debut last year with Arizona (1-4, 5.89 ERA in 21 games).

LHP Jason Waddell spent the 2009 season with Triple-A Iowa in the Pacific Coast League and made his major league debut with the Chicago Cubs. Waddell (28) started his career with the San Francisco Giants after being drafted in the 8th round (2001).

RHP Robbie Weinhardt will make the jump from Double-A to Triple-A in 2010. The 24-year-old 10th round pick of Detroit in 2008 spent last year with Single-A Lakeland (1-1, 0.85 ERA in 22 games) and Double-A Erie (0-1, 2.30 ERA in 20 games).

Catchers Robinzon Diaz will begin the season with Toledo. The 26-year-old Dominican Republic native was signed by Detroit in December of 2009 after being designated for assignment by the Pirates. Diaz spent last season at Triple-A Indianapolis where he batted .262 and drove in 15 runs.

Mike Rabelo makes his return to Toledo after a two-year stint in the Florida Marlins system. The 30-year-old was a part of the 2006 Governors' Cup Champion Toledo team in 2006. He has played in 86 major league games (52 with Detroit and 34 with Florida) during his nine year pro career.

Infield Shortstop Brent Dlugach was a Triple-A All-Star in 2009 with Toledo, hitting .294 with 36 doubles, nine HR and 59 RBI. The 27-year-old made his major league debut with Detroit in September, playing in five games. Dlugach is a 6th round draft pick of Detroit (2004).

1B Jeff Larish returns to Toledo for the third straight season. The 27-year-old was drafted by Detroit in the 5th round of the 2005 draft and is in his 6th professional season. Larish hit 21 HR for Toledo in 2008 but was slowed by a right wrist injury for parts of the 2009 season.

Max Leon enters his 5th professional season after spending 10 games with Toledo and 62 games with Double-A Erie last year. The 25-year-old native of Mexico is a 50th round draft pick of Detroit (2004).

2B Will Rhymes played in 109 games with Toledo last year, hitting .260 and stealing 20 bases. The 27th round draft pick (Detroit-2005) is a career .286 hitter. Rhymes also played in six games with Toledo in 2008.

1B/OF Ryan Strieby will play at the Triple-A level for the first time in 2010. The 4th round pick (2006) played in 86 games with Double-A Erie last season, hitting .303 with 19 HR and 58 RBI. Strieby is 24 years old.

2B/SS Danny Worth played in 41 games with Toledo last season and 75 games for Double-A Erie. The 2nd round pick (Detroit-2007) is in his 4th professional season.

Outfield Brennan Boesch will be playing at the Triple-A level for the first time in 2010. The 24-year-old led the Eastern League in HR (28), outfield assists (15) and total bases (269) while playing with Erie last year. Boesch is a 3rd round pick of the Tigers in the 2006 draft.

Jeff Frazier is coming back to Toledo after a solid 2009 campaign. The 27-year-old hit .308 with 36 extra-base hits in 105 games in Toledo in 2009. Frazier started the year with Double-A Erie and hit .322 in 23 games there.

Clete Thomas played in 45 games with Toledo in 2009 and appeared in 102 games with Detroit. The 26-year-old is in his 6th professional season. Thomas was selected by Detroit in the 6th round of the 2005 draft.

Casper Wells will play at the Triple-A level for the first time in his 6th professional season. Wells (25) played in 86 games with Double-A Erie last year, hitting .260 with 37 extra-base hits. Wells is a 14th round draft pick of Detroit (2005).

Opening Day at Fifth Third Field is Thursday, April 8 at 5:30 p.m. versus the Louisville Bats.
