Florida Everblades News Release

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades and Paragon Flight Training in Fort Myers teamed up for a special day of flying yesterday. Swampy's Hereos, a program started by the Florida Everblades and Lee Memorial Health Systems partners and Everblade player with a child fighting illness during the hockey season, got a chance to be a co-pilot for a day.

The Swampy's Hereos kids were treated to lunch from Carrabbas Gulf Coast and Coca-Cola provided beverages for the event. The highlight of the day featured each child flying with an Everblade player in four and six-seat Cessna airplanes.

Five-year-old Benjamin Nordstrom, who is fighting Leukemia, said he had a lot of fun, "It was awesome to go up in the plane and wear the headset. I want to do it again."

Paragon Flight owner Nicole Schoensee said her reward is meeting the kids, "These kids have to go through so much, it is great to be able to brighten their day for a few hours. I just enjoy meeting all the kids and all the Everblades players!"

In addition to the flights, Paragon Flight and the Everblades provided each child with an autographed T-shirt, posters, backpack, hat and more.
