Record Six Power-Play Goals, One Shorthanded Tally Voted CHL Performance of the Week

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, announced today the team's franchise-record six power-play goals and one shorthanded tally against the Colorado Eagles on March 19 has been voted as this season's final CHL Performance of the Week and has been named a finalist for CHL Performance of the Year.

Arizona finished 6-for-13 with the man advantage and added a shorthanded goal while holding Colorado to just one goal on seven power-play chances. Linus Fagemo, Steve Potvin, Konrad Reeder, Kyle Hood and Nick Biondo combined for 17 points in the win.

The seven special teams' goals earned 35.3% of votes (1,235 fans voted in the final poll of the regular season), edging out Ryan Held of Mississippi. Held finished second in the poll, extending his regular season goal scoring streak to nine games with a late marker in a 5-2 win over the Tulsa Oilers on March 20.

Other finalists for Performance of the Year include Bossier-Shreveport's Simon Mangos scoring twice in an 11-round shootout to help the Mudbugs to a 5-4 come-from-behind win over the Odessa Jackalopes on October 24, Missouri's Jeff Christian tallying his 500th career goal in a 5-4 shootout win over Tulsa on Thanksgiving Day, the RiverKings' Louis Dumont scoring four goals in a 5:01 stretch of the third period of a 6-3 win over Colorado on December 4, the expansion Mavericks holding the Mudbugs to five shots in the final two periods of a 5-3 win on January 2 and Rio Grande Valley's Andy Franck making 50 saves in a 3-2 shootout win over the Laredo Bucks on February 4.

Fans can vote to select the 2009-10 CHL Performance of the Year by visiting www.centralhockeyleague.com. Voting is underway and will close on Monday, April 12 with the winner being announced on Tuesday, April 13.
