Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs will look to achieve cruising speed when the Peoria Rivermen visit the Rockford MetroCentre tonight.
The Hogs (40-25-3-3 - 86 points, second place in West Division) have won the teams' last three matchups and will look to win their third straight overall as they continue their season-long seven game homestand against the Rivermen (32-28-2-6 - 72 points, sixth place in West Division).
The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. To buy tickets, stop by the MetroCentre Box Office, call (815) 968-5222 or visit metrocentre.com.
The first 3,000 fans into the building will pick up a player figurine of either Mike Brennan, Evan Brophey or Jake Dowell courtesy of EcoHome Expert, Inc. Kanga Roof. Also, the IceHogs will be giving away five game-worn jerseys. The jerseys that will be given away include Matt Keith, Daryl Boyle, Ryan Flinn, Jack Skille and Brian Connelly. The game can be heard on 1330 AM WNTA and can be seen on Rockford Comcast Channel 57. All the Hogs' games can also be watched online at ahllive.com.
The Hogs won their second straight game decided in a shootout, 3-2 over Houston on Sunday. Evan Brophey and Danny Bois had tallies in the shootout and Corey Crawford didn't allow a goal as the Hogs won it in four rounds. Crawford stopped 25 of 27 shots to get the win before being called up by the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday.
The victory over Houston kicked off the homestand and came on the heels of a 6-3 victory in Winnipeg over Manitoba Saturday night. Rockford used the shootout to sink the Rivermen 2-1 at home in the teams' last matchup on Feb. 27. The Hogs are 4-2-1-1 in their 10-game season series that wraps up next Friday at the Big Orange Box.
Next Home Game: Saturday, March 20 vs. Texas Stars: Game time is 7:05 p.m. The first 5,000 fans to the big orange box will receive an IceHogs Car Flag from U.S. Cellular.
