Craig Duininck Named Windsor Spitfires Academic Player Of The Month For February

(Windsor) The Windsor Spitfires are proud to announce that the team's Academic Player of the Month for February is rookie defenceman Craig Duininck.

Duininck, 16, a native of St. Cloud MN, is currently a grade 11 student at St. Anne's High School in Lakeshore and is the first two-time winner of the Academic Player of the Month this season for the Spitfires, as he previously won the award in November. Prior to the start of yesterday's Spitfire home game versus the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, Duininck was presented with a special award from the team by Spitfire Academic Advisors Dennis Gignac and John Laporte.

"Craig had a very successful first semester at St. Anne's in the business, religion, and biology courses that he took, as he finished the semester with an A average. In the second semester, Craig is taking university math, english and management leadership. He is well respected by his teachers and is a positive role model for the other student athletes at school," said Windsor Spitfires Academic Advisor Dennis Gignac. Duininck is eligible for the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
