February 25, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs and the newly created Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame announced today that the Bulldogs will host Hamilton's first ever "Hall of Fame Game" on Thursday, April 1st, 2010 when they ツ船ogs welcome the Toronto Marlies to Copps Coliseum for a 7:30 p.m. game.
Fans can purchase tickets for the game at a special price of $15 by contacting the HSHOF at info@hamiltonsportshalloffame.com. There will also be further reduced pricing for group ticket purchases. The inaugural HSHOF inductees will be announced on March 29th, 2010 at a special public media conference. In honour of the newly inducted HSHOF members, the Bulldogs players will wear special tribute jerseys during pre-game warm-ups. The jerseys will then be available for sale, raffle and auction during the game at the Bulldogs Foundation booth with proceeds being shared by the HSHOF and Bulldogs Foundation. There will also be a special pre-game tribute to the HSHOF's newly inducted members as well as various in-game promotions.
"On behalf of our Hall committee, the Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame is excited to team with the Hamilton Bulldogs to pay tribute to the newly inducted Hamilton Hall of Famers in what we hope will become an annual ritual combining two community minded organizations", said Brian Lewis, Board Chair of the Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame. "The HSHOF will not only be an entity that honours our local Sports Leaders, but also be an integral component of our great community."
"We're excited to be partnering with the new Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame as they announce up to 12 inductees", said Bulldogs President and Governor Glenn Stanford. "Hamilton has a rich sporting history and the City has produced a plethora of individuals who have had a significant impact on sport locally, nationally and globally." Stanford added, "I am anxious to see who will be included in the charter class of the HSHOF and I can't think of a better way to pay tribute to what will undoubtedly be an outstanding group of individuals than to honour them in front of a big crowd at Copps Coliseum before our game on April 1st."
The ツ船ogs will host the Rochester Americans for a game on Saturday, February 27th at 7:00 p.m. at Copps Coliseum. Fans can listen to every ツ船ogs game on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, TALK 820.
