Manitoba's AHL Off-Ice Official Selected To Work Men's Gold Medal

February 24, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Manitoba Moose News Release

The Manitoba Moose are pleased to announce that Gerald Andrews, one of their AHL Off-Ice Officials, has been selected to officiate the Men's Olympic Gold Medal Hockey Game for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver on Sunday afternoon.

Andrews has been working on one of the three crews assigned to the ice hockey games since the start of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. His hard work has earned him the spot on the Gold Medal crew, as those positions were assigned by merit.

His job on Sunday will be gathering statistics on face-offs taken during the games - including where they take place, the players involved, and the outcome. His schedule so far has seen him work eight men's hockey games and seven women's games, including the opening game for the Canadian women's team on February 13th as well as the round-robin men's game between Canada and the United States this past Sunday, Feb. 21st.

We wish Gerald Andrews the best of luck on Sunday in what will hopefully be a moment that will go down in Canadian hockey history!
