Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

The Waterloo Black Hawks lobbed 46 shots on net Monday afternoon but fell to the Indiana Ice 4-2 at Pepsi Coliseum to end a five-game road trip.

Each team held the lead for approximately four minutes during the first two periods. The Ice struck first as Brain Ferlin capped a two-on-one rush at 9:07 of the first, but Derek Arnold scored into an open net on a goalmouth scramble at 13:15. Waterloo swung in front with a Tyler Barnes goal off a faceoff win 1:35 into the second. The lead lasted until Bryon Paulazzo swiped the puck in the Black Hawk zone and fired it in at 5:03.

The game stayed 2-2 until 3:05 remained in the final period; Antti Roppo fired a shot under the crossbar which proved to be the winner. Max Cook added an empty-net marker to finish the scoring at 19:53.

Indiana goalie Cab Morris frustrated the Black Hawks by making 44 saves, allowing the Ice to make the most of three goals on their first 18 shots.

The Hawks play their sixth consecutive game against an Eastern Division opponent Friday when the Chicago Steel visit Young Arena. Enjoy the Cedar Valley's best deal, as the Black Hawks offer a Domino's Family Four Pack (four tickets, four sodas, a One-Timer game program, and a large Domino's Pizza) for $44.
