P-Bruins Fall To Pirates 3-0

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins fell to the Portland Pirates 3-0 Friday evening in front of 8,074 fans at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The P-Bruins return home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday at 2:05 p.m. for Jumbo Card Night against the Worcester Sharks.

The Pirates took a 1-0 advantage at the 8:45 mark of the opening period. Felix Schutz tallied his eighth goal of the season, while Marc-Andre Gragnani and Kyle Wanvig recorded the assists. Portland led 1-0 going into the first intermission.

The Pirates took a 2-0 advantage at the 11:16 mark of the second period. Tyler Ennis netted his 16th goal of the season, while Mark Mancari and Schutz picked up the assists. Portland made it 3-0 at the 16:30 mark. Derek Whitmore scored his tenth goal of the season, with Ennis and Gragnani getting the assists.

After a scoreless third period, the Pirates went onto the 3-0 victory.

Dany Sabourin stopped 27 of 30 shots for the P-Bruins, while Jhonas Enroth made 38 saves for the Pirates. The P-Bruins were 3-for-3 on the power play and 1-for-2 on the penalty kill.

The P-Bruins head to the DCU Center on Saturday to take on the Sharks at 7:05 p.m., before wrapping up the weekend at The Dunk Sunday at 2:05 p.m. for Jumbo Card Night against the Sharks.
