Calgary, AB - Stefan Elliott and the Saskatoon Blades (32-11-2-3) host Quinton Howden and the Moose Jaw Warriors (25-17-3-3) for an East Division match-up in Western Hockey League action on Wednesday night.

Wednesday's WHL match-up between the Blades and Warriors can be seen on Rogers Sportsnet (7:00pm CT; Live in West region, Tape Delay in Pacific region).

Rogers Sportsnet.pngThe Blades are coming off a 5-2 loss to the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings on Saturday for their third straight setback, but remain in first place in the East Division and Eastern Conference. The Blades are 16-5-2-0 at home, but have lost their last three home games. Elliott ranks second among all WHL defensemen with 18 goals this season.

The Warriors fell 3-2 in overtime to the visiting Swift Current Broncos on Tuesday night for their third loss in a row, but remain in sixth place in the Eastern Conference. The Warriors are 0-2-1-1 over their last four games on enemy ice. Howden (21g-31a) leads the Warriors in scoring with 52 points this season.

It's the fourth meeting of the season between the Warriors and Blades. The Blades won all three previous meetings versus the Warriors this season.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, Ryan Howse and the Chilliwack Bruins (23-23-1-5) host Levko Koper and the Spokane Chiefs (27-18-3-1).

The Bruins split a weekend home-and-home series versus the Kamloops Blazers and have won three of their last four games. Howse is tied for the WHL lead in goals with 35, but has just one goal over his last eight games.

The Chiefs suffered an 8-1 thrashing at the hands of the Blazers in Kamloops on Tuesday night for their second straight defeat, and currently sit in fifth place in the Western Conference. The Chiefs are playing the final game of an eight-game road venture.

In Kelowna, B.C., Brandon McMillan and the Kelowna Rockets (21-25-2-2) host Burke Gallimore and the Seattle Thunderbirds (14-26-4-4) on Wednesday.

The Rockets earned two victories in Prince George over the Cougars on the weekend, outscoring the Cougars 10-3 in the process, and currently sit in eighth place in the Western Conference. McMillan tallied three goals and two assists in the Rockets' two weekend wins in P.G.

The Thunderbirds dropped a 6-1 decision in Kent, WA, to the visiting Winterhawks on Saturday night for their fifth straight loss. Gallimore has two goals and three points in five games since coming to the T-Birds from Saskatoon at the WHL trade deadline.

In Lethbridge, AB, Cam Braes and the Lethbridge Hurricanes (16-27-3-2) host Scott Glennie and the Brandon Wheat Kings (33-16-0-3) on Wednesday.

The Hurricanes are coming off a 6-2 loss in Calgary to the Hitmen on Sunday for their fourth setback in their last five games. Braes (15g-22a) currently sits in second place among 'Canes players in scoring with 37 points.

The Wheat Kings are coming off Tuesday's thrilling 6-5 overtime win in Cranbrook, B.C., over the Kootenay Ice for their third straight victory, moving them into a tie with Saskatoon for top spot in the East Division and Eastern Conference. Glennie scored the overtime winner and added two assists in Tuesday's victory, giving him three goals and 10 points over his last four games.

In Prince George, B.C., Alex Rodgers and the Prince George Cougars (9-38-1-1) host Linden Vey and the Medicine Hat Tigers (30-15-3-5) on Wednesday for the second meeting in as many nights between the teams.

The Tigers skated to a 9-3 win over the Cougars on Tuesday night for their fourth win in a row, and now hold a two-point lead over Calgary for top spot in the Central Division. Vey notched three goals and five points in Tuesday's win over the Cougars.

The Cougars suffered their 10th consecutive loss with Tuesday's 9-3 setback to the Tigers, and remain in 10th place in the Western Conference. Alex Rodgers scored twice in Tuesday's loss, giving him a team-leading 13 goals this season.

In other WHL action on Wednesday, Landon Ferraro and the Red Deer Rebels (25-19-0-4) host Johnny Lazo and the Tri-City Americans (36-12-0-1).

The Rebels are coming off a 3-1 win over the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday night for their third victory in five games, and currently occupy eighth place in the Eastern Conference. Ferraro scored his ninth and 10th goals of the season in Saturday's win over the Warriors.

The Ams are coming off a 3-2 loss to the visiting Spokane Chiefs on Saturday night, snapping a six-game winning streak, and currently hold an eight-point lead for top spot in the U.S. Division and Western Conference standings. The Ams are 14-7-0-1 on the road this season.
