Olympian Mark Tewksbury Speaker at 5th Special Olympics/Raider Power Breakfast

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - The Prince Albert Raiders and Special Olympics Prince Albert are pleased to announce that Canadian Olympic gold medallist Mark Tewksbury will be the guest speaker for the 5th annual Training for Life Power Breakfast Tuesday, March 16th at 7:00 AM in the Ches Leach Lounge. The previous 4 events have all sold out with both Special Olympics and Raider Education Fund realizing $20,000 each from the breakfasts presented by Sask Power.

Mark Tewksbury is one of Canada's most decorated Olympic athletes, having won gold, silver and bronze in swimming events at the 1992 Barcelona Games. Since he has become a champion communicator and advocate for sick children, Special Olympians and stood with Martina Navratilova for human rights at the World Outgames in 2006.

A few highlights include a key note address at the Sydney Opera House, the Salzburg Music Festival and being master of ceremonies for the Dalai Lama's Canadian appearance in 2007. He has hosted two television shows and authored three books. His latest book, "The Great Traits of Champions" will be available at the Power Breakfast with proceeds going to Special Olympics and the Raider Education Fund.

Sponsors of the event include: Conexus, Broda Group of Companies, Freedom 55 Financial, Mr. Plumber, River Park Funeral Home, AODBT, Frank Dunn Toyota and Kin Enterprises. Lone Wolf will cater the event this year with support from Tim Horton's and PA Bottlers.

Tickets for the event are $200 for a table of 8 or $30 for individuals. Tickets are available from committee members or by calling the Raider Office at 764-4263. Silent auction items will include an autographed Team Canada jersey from the 2010 World Junior Championships and an item from the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games.
