Bucks Sign Desfosses For Season

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Tuesday that they have signed goatender Kevin Desfosses for the 2009-10 season. Desfosses was signed to a five-game contract by the Bucks on January 14th.

The 22-year-old Desfosses (pronounced DAY-fos-say) has played in four games for the Bucks posting a 3-1 record with a 2.00 G.A.A and a.948 sv. %. Desfosses has stopped a total of 147 of 155 shots he has faced in a Bucks uniform. Overall this season Desfosses has a record of 6-6 with a 2.80 G.A.A and a.919 sv. %.

"Kevin has played extremely well for us since we brought him in here," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "He's played like a veteran goaltender not a rookie. We think he is a big key for us to be successful."

Desfosses, a native of Beauport, Quebec, has stopped 30 or more shots in eight of his 12 starts this season including saving over 30 shots in all four starts for Laredo.

With the Bucks Desfosses has had games with 38, 31, 42 and 36 saves. His 42 saves came in the Bucks 4-2 win at Colorado on January 20th.

Desfosses, 6'0'', 185 pounds, went 6-3 last year for the Port Huron Icehawks (IHL) with a 2.20 G.A.A and a.922 sv. %.

Prior to turning pro Desfosses played four seasons of junior's splitting time between the QJAHL, QMJHL, and SJHL. Desfosses won a combined 65 games during the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons in junior.

**CULLATON PLACED ON **TEAM** SUSPENSION**

The Bucks also announced Tuesday that Brent Cullaton has been placed on team suspension. Cullaton will be eligible for the playoff roster when the postseason begins in March.

Cullaton returned to the Bucks last week and scored three points (2-13) in three games to help lead Laredo to a 2-1 road trip.

Cullaton, who Captained the Bucks to two President's Cup Championships in 2004 and 2006, returned to play for Laredo in February of last season thanks to a trade with Rocky Mountain. Cullaton will continue to be the Head Coach for the Boulder Jr. Bisons of the Western States Hockey League (WSHL). The Bisons regular season ends February 22nd.

Cullaton, a three-time CHL All-Star, is near the top of the Bucks record books in several categories. Cullaton is tied for fifth in Bucks history with Adam Rivet in goals (73), and his sixth in assists (123), and points (196) in 133 regular season games.

The 35 year-old Cullaton put up 16 points (5-1116) in 20 games in his return to Laredo this season. In his first game back in a Bucks uniform on February 5th, Cullaton picked up an assist in the Bucks 7-1 rout of Corpus Christi at the LEC.

Cullaton now has 805 points (283-522805) in his 13 professional seasons.

In 2007-08 with the Rage, Cullaton notched a career-high 92 points (21-7192), and was named a finalist for CHL-MVP.

Cullaton led the Bucks in scoring in the 2004 playoffs, putting up 20 points (4-1620). Cullaton scored points in five of the seven games in the Finals, including handing out two assists in Laredo's game-seven win. Cullaton assisted on Dion Hyman's overtime game-winning goal to clinch the Bucks first Championship.

In the 2006 Playoffs, Cullaton scored at least a point in 15 of the Bucks 16 games, to help lead them to their second President's Cup Title.

**PINK IN THE RINK JAN. 29**

The Bucks will host their second annual "Pink in the Rink" game on Friday January 29th at the LEC. If the game is sold out the Bucks will donate $10,000 to WINGS. WINGS (Women Involved in Nurturing, Giving and Sharing) helps uninsured or underinsured women of Laredo receive treatment for breast cancer.

The Bucks will wear pink jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. The first 4,000 fans to enter the arena will receive FREE pink thunderstix.

**FAITH **AND** FAMILY NIGHT & **BOY** SCOUT NIGHT JAN 30**

The Bucks will host Faith and Family night on Saturday January 30th when they host Corpus Christi Ice Rays at the LEC. Local churches or family organizations can receive ticket discounts for the game that night. Call Cy Agley at 956-523-6592.
