Mallards Ink Defenseman Jason Price

Moline, Ill. (January 23, 2010) - The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, have signed defenseman Jason Price and have placed blue liner Shaun Fisher on injured reserved. Per team policy no contract terms were announced.

Price, 25, played six games earlier this month for the Muskegon Lumberjacks. The Farmington Hills, Michigan, native- who has also skated as a forward- scored 16 goals and totaled 33 points in 60 games with the Richmond Renegades of the Southern Professional Hockey League last season. The 6' 3", 200-pound fourth year pro has scored 23 goals and recorded 64 points 142 career games in the United Hockey League, SPHL and now IHL. Price spent three seasons in junior hockey with the North American League's Texarkana Bandits before turning pro.

A back injury has kept Fisher out of the Mallards' lineup for the last 15 games. The veteran blue liner has gone without a point in nine games since joining the Mallards in November.

The Mallards, who visit the Port Huron Icehawks tonight, will next take to the ice at home on Wednesday, January 27 against Flint at 7:05 p.m. Fans attending the January 27 game will be able to enjoy $2 12-ounce drafts available at i wireless Center concession stands throughout that contest.
