Crunch Foundation To Assist In Haitian Earthquake Relief Effort
January 14, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Syracuse Crunch News Release
Syracuse, NY (January 14, 2010) - The Syracuse Crunch and the Crunch Foundation, the club's charitable arm, announced today that all proceeds from the Crunch Foundation prize wheel from the club's Saturday, January 16 game vs. Rochester will be donated to the American Red Cross to benefit victims of the recent devastating earthquake in Haiti.
On January 12, the Republic of Haiti was hit by one of the deadliest earthquakes on record. With up to 500,000 casualties and the capital city of Port-au-Prince left in ruins, Haitians must now rely on the generosity of others to both heal and rebuild.
For just $1, fans will have the opportunity to spin the wheel to win prizes such as ticket vouchers, merchandise discounts and autographed Crunch items. In addition, donations will also be accepted.
The wheel will be located at the merchandise stand on the South State Street side of the War Memorial at Oncenter and will be available for spinning from approximately 6:30 p.m. through the second intermission.
The Crunch Foundation strives to strengthen and broaden the impact of the Syracuse Crunch in the Central New York region by providing funds to non-profit groups and by supporting educational and community programs.
