Rampage Add Gavin Morgan & Eric Regan To Roster

SAN ANTONIO (December 31, 2009) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Brad Treliving announced today that the American Hockey League club has signed forward Gavin Morgan to a Professional Try-Out (PTO) contract. In addition, the Anaheim Ducks (NHL) have reassigned defenseman Eric Regan to the Rampage from the Bakersfield Condors (ECHL).

Morgan, 33, has appeared in 20 games with the Reading Royals (ECHL), collecting two goals and 13 assists and has skated in 13 games, posting one goal and one assist, in three separate stints with the Hershey Bears (AHL) during the 2009-10 season.

The Scarborough, Ontario native has appeared in 479 career regular season AHL games, totaling 68 goals and 141 assists over the span of eight seasons, and has made 26 AHL playoff appearances, accumulating one goal and four assists with Hamilton (2005), Peoria (2006) and Rockford (2008).

Morgan, a 10-year veteran, skated in six games with the Dallas Stars (NHL) during the 2003-04 season, collecting 21 penalty minutes and posting seven shots. He has also seen action in 96 career International Hockey League games (IHL -1999-2001), recording seven goals and 17 assists.

The 5-foot-11, 191-pound forward appeared in 146 games at the University of Denver (WCHA-1995-1999), totaling 17 goals and 33 assists in his four-year collegiate career with the Pioneers.

Regan, 21, has appeared in 30 games with Bakersfield this season, recording nine goals and 10 assists, including five power-play goals and four game-winning goals. During the 2008-09 season, the blueliner registered one goal and seven assists in 59 games with the Iowa Chops (AHL).

Prior to signing a three-year entry-level contract with Anaheim on Sept. 23, 2008, the Whitby, Ontario native played in 252 career Ontario Hockey League (OHL) games, tallying 16 goals, 97 assists and 156 penalty minutes with Erie (2004-06) and Oshawa (2006-08).

San Antonio will take to the ice this Friday and Saturday when they host the Abbotsford Heat for a back-to-back matchup at 7 p.m. (CDT) at the AT&T Center.
