Blues Recall Derek Armstrong

ST. LOUIS (December 30, 2009) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has recalled forward Derek Armstrong under emergency conditions from the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Armstrong, 36, has played in 16 games this season with Peoria, registering 11 points (six goals, five assists) along with six penalty minutes. He recorded three assists in Peoria's 5-3 win over Lake Erie on Tuesday.

Armstrong played in 56 games with the Los Angeles Kings last season, recording nine points (five goals, four assists) and 63 penalty minutes. The 6-0, 197-pound center has played in 471 NHL games, amassing 221 points (72 goals, 149 assists) and 353 penalty minutes.

The Ottawa, Ontario native was originally drafted by the New York Islanders in the sixth round, 128th overall in the 1992 Entry Draft.
