Stingrays Sign Goaltender Connelly

North Charleston, SC - The Kelly Cup Champion South Carolina Stingrays announced today that rookie goaltender Shane Connelly has signed with the team. In keeping with club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Connelly, 22, joins the Stingrays after appearing in 14 games this season with the Johnstown Chiefs picking up a 3-7-2 record and a 4.08 goals-against average. While with the Chiefs, Connelly also earned a.870 save percentage. The University of Wisconsin product notched his first professional win on November 5 stopping 25 of 28 shots at Cincinnati. During his sophomore year with the Badgers, Connelly went 4-1-2 with a 1.11 GAA while backing up Hobey finalist Brian Elliott.
