Canucks Recall Rome From Conditioning Assignment

The Vancouver Canucks today announced they have recalled defenceman Aaron Rome from his conditioning assignment with the Moose.

Rome, 26, played in seven games with the Moose since his conditioning re-assignment on Nov. 30/09. In that span, the Nesbitt, MB native was Manitoba's leading scorer with seven points (6g & 1a) and 15 penalty minutes. He also scored three game-winning goals and four powerplay goals to take the team lead in those categories.

Rome has now played in 325 career games in the American Hockey League between Cincinnati, Portland, Syracuse and Manitoba. In that span, he has recorded 129 points (33g & 96a) along with 681 penalty minutes.

Rome started the season with the Canucks and appeared in 10 games where he collected one assist and four penalty minutes. In 36 NHL games with Vancouver, Columbus and Anaheim in his six year pro career, Rome has scored four points (1g & 3a) and 37 penalty minutes.

Rome was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the fourth round, 104th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
