KiXX Travel To Rockford To Play Unbeaten Rampage Tonight

December 4, 2009 - Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL)
Philadelphia KiXX News Release

Rockford, Ill. (Friday, December 4, 2009) - The Philadelphia KiXX (0-2) will head into the MetroCentre in Northern Illinois tonight, and the team is looking to end a two-game slide against the first-place Rockford Rampage (2-0). Philadelphia, who has seen eight different players score goals in its first two matches this season, would put itself right back in the thick of the Major Indoor Soccer League standings with a win over the unbeaten Rampage.

"We know the importance of this game, and we have talked about what we need to do to be successful," KiXX head coach Don D'Ambra stated in a determined voice when asked about the significance of this contest. "At this point, I feel that our challenge will be to come into the game focused and with a more disciplined mentality."

Coming off an emotion win over the Milwaukee Wave (1-1) last weekend, Rockford seems to be hitting an early season stride, but D'Ambra insists that the opposition cannot be the only concern of his club in order to get the result tonight.

"At this point, I am not focusing on Rockford as much. I am focusing on our team," he said. "In order for us to be successful, we must become more disciplined and focused by understanding and executing our defensive and offensive responsibilities."

Five teams are competing for the MISL Championship this season, and the fact that each club has such a talented roster leaves little room for error. With the league being that competitive, D'Ambra commented on the importance of doing the little things properly in each match.

"We need to minimize our mistakes and play consistent," he remarked. "So far, we have lost our first two games because we had mental breakdowns that cost us too many easy goals. All of the teams in this league are good, so we can't give goals away and expect to win."

Undoubtedly, Philadelphia has the talent, coaching and leadership to right the ship tonight in Rockford, and the team is determined to bring a decision over Rockford back to the City of Brotherly Love.

Kickoff for this game is slated for 8:35 pm EST, and media members can follow the action live via an online webcast.

The KiXX will play its historic first game at the Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University on Saturday, January 9th, hosting the Rockford Rampage at 7:00 p.m. Season and group ticket packages for the KiXX are available now by calling 1-888-888-KiXX.
