Wheeling Nailers News Release

Wheeling, WV - The Wheeling Nailers, the proud AA affiliate of the Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins, have acquired forward Colin Power in a trade with the Stockton Thunder for future considerations.

Power is a rookie out of St. Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia where he played for Wheeling assistant coach Doug Doull. This season with Stockton the 25 year old has 1 goal and 1 assist along with 32 penalty minutes.

"Power is a gritty, hard-nose player," said Nailers Head Coach Greg Puhalski. "I think something I think we need a little more of up front. He's someone who's going to bang some bodies and help out Schnell and Lord a little bit as far as dropping the gloves."

In other roster moves today, T.J. Fox was returned to Wheeling from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL and is expected to be back in action this weekend. The Nailers released forward Pierce Norton.

The Nailers are back in action this weekend with a Friday night game at Johnstown at 7:05. Wheeling has a pair of home games Saturday at 7:35 and Sunday at 6:35 hosting the Johnstown Chiefs and Toledo Walleye back to back. Call the Nailers for tickets at 304-234-GOAL.
