LEWISTON, ME - Evan Mosher made 37 saves to help the PEI Rocket hang on to a 3-2 victory over the Lewiston MAINEiacs Saturday night. After a scoreless first half of the game, the MAINEiacs scored first on Michael Chaput's 11th goal of the season at 11:17 of the second period. However, the lead didn't last long, as PEI scored three goals in a four minute span to take a 3-1 lead into the second intermission.
Late in the third, Lewiston pulled within one on a 5-on-3 power play with 4:08 remaining in regulation. Eric Gelinas fired a hard wrist shot from the slot that ripped past Mosher, and into the back of the net. The MAINEiacs generated several more quality opportunities, but could not find the equalizer.
