GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, announced today that the Flyers have loaned 2009 AHL All-Star defenseman Danny Syvret to Adirondack.Syrvret, 24, made the Flyers opening night roster out of training camp, appearing in 13 NHL games this season and recording two assists. The Millgrove, Ontario native played in 76 games for the Phantoms last season, finishing first on the team in assists (45) and third in points (57) and was selected to the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic, but could not participate due to being called up by the Flyers. Syvret has appeared in 258 career AHL games and has 117 points (18 goals, 99 assists) and 141 penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the 3rd round (81st overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Syrvet was acquired by Philadelphia on June 2, 2008 in a trade with the Oilers for forward Ryan Potulny. He has played in 41 career NHL games with Edmonton and Philadelphia, registering three assists and 20 penalty minutes.
The Phantoms host the Hershey Bears on Friday, November 27th for a 7:30 pm face off at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The first 3,000 fans into the building will receive a set of Phantoms Thunder Sticks courtesy of Pyrofax Energy.
