Albany River Rats News Release

BINGHAMTON, NY-Ryan Keller and Josh Hennessy each scored twice to lead the Binghamton Senators over the Albany River Rats 4-1 Saturday night at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

The Senators unloaded 50 shots on rookie goaltender Mike Murphy, whose Binghamton counterpart Andy Chiodo turned-aside 25 to earn the win.

Keller opened the scoring in the first period with back-to-back goals just 51 seconds apart. The Senators leading goal scorer redirected a Drew Bannister slap shot over Murphy's shoulder for his first of the night at 12:34, and buried an errant clearing attempt into a wide-open net for his 13th of the year at 13:25.

Defenseman Jamie McBain scored Albany's only goal at 11:17 of the second period to make it a 2-1 game. The rookie sent a power play blast over a downed Chiodo, who'd been bumped by River Rat Jerome Samson moments earlier. Hennessy reclaimed his club's two-goal lead at 13:57 with a power play tally to make it 3-1 heading into the final frame, and sealed the game in the third period on a partial-breakaway with a pretty move to his backhand.

Albany went 1-for-7 on the power play and fell to 9-10-0-2 this season. The Senators were 2-for-6 and improved to 9-8-2-1.

The River Rats return to the Times Union Center on Wednesday, November 25 to take on the Syracuse Crunch. All tickets are just $5.00 for the special Thanksgiving Eve game. River Rats 2009-10 season and flex ticket packages are now on sale at the River Rats executive offices at the Times Union Center, by calling (518) 487-2244 or by logging onto www.albanyriverrats.com.
