Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors (8-6-0-0, 16pts) fell behind the Alaska Aces (8-4-2-0, 18pts) 6-1 after 20 minutes of play and ultimately lost 7-1 on Saturday night at Sullivan Arena in front of 5,835 fans.In the first period, Alaska scored the game's first five goals in the opening 17 minutes. C Alexandre Imbeault, D T.J. Fast, RW Colin Hemingway, D Nick Tuzzolino and F Nick Mazzolino recorded the five goals. G Justin Pogge was pulled following four goals, stopping three of seven shots in the period. RW Nick Kemp made it a 5-1 game with his first of the season with 2:05 remaining in the opening frame. But Alaska scored the final tally of the period when Mazzolini scored his second of the game with 1:40 to play in the period. G Timo Pielmeier stopped four of six shots after replacing Pogge.
Pogge returned to start the second period for the Condors, stopping all 14 shots in the period, and 24 of 29 in the game. C Adam Naglich was awarded a penalty shot at 4:15 of the second period after being impeded on a breakaway, but failed to score on the play.
In the final 20 minutes, LW Logan MacMillan earned the second penalty shot of the game at 1:41 of the third period, but couldn't convert on G Sebastian Dahm, who stopped 36 shots in the game. Hemingway added his second goal of the game to make it 7-1 with 6:12 remaining in the third period.
