JackHammers fans won't run into Jammer at any of Joliet's barbecue restaurants or steakhouses anytime soon. The blue haired, furry mascot of the Orange Crush professes a vegan lifestyle, and he wants you to see that the absence of meat from his diet hasn't hurt his physique.The soon to be released ad, which was photographed over the summer at Silver Cross Field in downtown Joliet, shows Jammer sitting nude in the infield grass for the group's "We'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" campaign. When asked about his thoughts of Jammer posing nude Director of Promotions and Community Relations, Sean Keegan, states "Jammer really wanted to do this campaign. He's getting older and wanting to make more decisions on his own. So we thought if this is really something he wants to do then we're going to let him do it."
Jammer is following in the footsteps of celebrities such as Dennis Rodman, Pamela Anderson and Dominique Swain, who have posed in the buff for the campaign. Shortly after posing nude for PETA Jammer was contacted by playgirl, but refused their offer.
LOOSE GRAVEL: Don't miss the "Block Wednesday" Street Party on November 25th. There will be food, beer, soda, and wine for sale. Other events will include a Bean Bag and Stick Ball Tourney along with a bonfire, a pie eating contest, 50/50 raffles, silent auction, ProShop Sale, hayrides and a bat burning with a blessing for 2010. For everyone's entertainment a DJ will be playing some tunes and for a small donation you can even catch a glimpse of a "Man Eating Turkey."
Tickets for this event can be purchased by stopping by the JackHammers office Monday-Friday from 9:00-5:30 or by purchasing them over the phone on a credit card.
