Gabriel Landeskog scored two goals to lead the Kitchener Rangers to a 3-1 Victory over the Guelph Storm this afternoon at The Aud.The Guelph Storm opened the scoring at 5:02 of the first period on a steal by Tyler Carroll at the Rangers blueline. He walked in alone before beating Brandon Maxwell low to the stick side. Landeskog tied the score at one when a puck bounced of his shoulder past Guelph netminder Cody St. Jacques. Branden Morris and Jeff Skinner picked up the assists on the goal, this was Morris' first ever OHL point.
Ben Thompson tapped in a goal at the 4:20 mark of the second period to put the Rangers up 2-1.
Landeskog scored his second goal of the game on a pass from Jason Akeson to increase the Rangers lead to 3-1.
The Rangers held their 5th Annual Remembrance Day Jersey Auction at this afternoon's game. All proceeds from the auction will benefit veterans through the 78th Fraser Highlanders Fort Conestoga Garrison and the Kitchener-Waterloo Poppy Fund. In the past four years the Rangers commemorative jersey auctions have raised more than $100,000 for various beneficiaries.
The Kitchener Rangers travel to Mississauga on Wednesday, November 11th for an 11pm game. They return to The Aud Friday, November 13th to face the London Knights. Game time is 7:30pm.
