Anaheim Assigns Mitera To Bakersfield

November 7, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL) San Antonio Rampage

SAN ANTONIO (November 7, 2009) - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that defenseman Mark Mitera has been assigned to the Bakersfield Condors (ECHL).

Mitera, 22, has appeared in five games with the Rampage this season. Last season, the Royal Oak, MI native registered two assists in five games with the Iowa Chops (AHL).

Prior to making his professional debut last season, Mitera appeared in 131 career games with the Michigan Wolverines (NCAA) and served as team captain during the 2008-09 season. He recorded 54 points (four goals, 50 assists), a plus-61 rating and 175 penalty minutes over the course of four seasons with the Wolverines.

Mitera was Anaheim's 1st choice (1st round, 19th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

The Rampage travel to Houston today to take on the Aeros at 7:30 p.m. at Toyota Center.
