Calgary Hitmen Post Come From Behind Win Over Edmonton Oil Kings

November 4, 2009 - Western Hockey League (WHL) Calgary Hitmen

Calgary, BC - The Calgary Hitmen scored two goals in the final two minutes to post a 3-2 come from behind win over the visiting Edmonton Oil Kings Wednesday night.

Joel Broda scored the tying goal on the powerplay with 1:34 remaining then Michael Stone wired home a point shot for the game winner with 50 seconds left.

Brandon Kozun, in the first period, also scored for Calgary to extend his point scoring streak to 12 games. Kozun finished the game with three points (1g 2a) and now leads the Western Hockey League scoring race with 34 points.

Rhett Rachinski and Michael St. Croix scored in a losing effort for the Oil Kings who were outshot 30-22 including 10-3 in the third period.

With the win the Hitmen improve to 14-5 on the season and lead the Central Division by six points over the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Calgary will continue their three game homestand with a pair of weekend games at the Pengrowth Saddledome hosting Everett on Friday (7:00 p.m.) and Swift Current (5:00 p.m.) on Sunday.
