Elmira Jackals center Justin Donati was named the Reebok Hockey ECHL Rookie of the Month for October, the league announced today. Donati posted 14 points (4g-10a) in his first seven games with the Jackals, which is tied for the league lead.Donati, along with his twin brother Tyler, leads the undefeated Jackals in scoring. The Jackals are off to their best start since joining the ECHL at 7-0, and are one win away from tying the ECHL record for consecutive wins to begin a season.
Donati has a point in all seven victories, and has posted four multi-point games. He scored a career-high four points in a 7-4 win against Johnstown on Oct. 23, and tallied the lone shootout goal in a 6-5 win at Reading on Oct. 17.
"Justin has had an outstanding start to the season. I expect him to keep up the pace," Elmira coach Steve Martinson said.
