Lancers Brace For Another Three-In-Three

LANCERS BRACE FOR ANOTHER THREE-IN-THREE

The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) prepare for another busy weekend as they brace for three games in three days this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday's contest begins a stretch of six games over the next nine days and is the first of 11 contests in the month of November for Omaha. The Lancers (8-1) enter USHL action this weekend having won five consecutive games after posting back-to-back one-goal victories over Team USA last Thursday and Friday. Omaha remains in first place not only in the West Division but the entire USHL thanks to 16 standings points. Omaha's weekend begins Friday evening with a visit from the Waterloo Black Hawks before heading to Sioux City on Saturday to take on the Musketeers and concluding Sunday afternoon back in Omaha against the Indiana Ice. Waterloo (2-6) has lost six of its last seven games overall including a 7-4 defeat at the hands of the Lancers two weeks ago. Sioux City (3-6) meanwhile has lost three consecutive contests - a losing skid that began with a 4-1 loss versus Omaha on October 24th. Finally, Indiana (5-2-1) has won four of its last five games overall following a weekend sweep over the Black Hawks in which the Ice outscored Waterloo 9-1. Indiana has yet to face Omaha this season. NEWS & NOTES FOR THE WEEKEND

* With an 8-1 start, the Lancers have matched their best start to a season in the last seven years. Omaha also began the season 8-1 during the 2007-08 campaign.

* During their current five-game winning streak, the Lancers have outscored their opposition 23-11 and have posted at least four goals in four of those five games.

* Omaha currently ranks first among all USHL teams in goals-against per game (2.00) and is tied for third in goals-for per contest (4.00).

* Matt White, currently in the midst of a 5-game scoring streak, leads all Lancers with 10 points (3 goals, 7 assists).
