KEARNEY, NE - Carsen Chubak made 24 saves on 25 shots to propel the Tri-City Storm (7-1-1, 15 pts) to their fifth win in row, defeating the Lincoln Stars (4-8-0, 8 pts) 2-1 on Tuesday night in the Viaero Event Center. The Storm has not lost in regulation since the opening night (Oct. 3) in Omaha and now is in second place in the West Division behind the Lancers.Lincoln opened the scoring 16:40 into the first period, as Kyle Gibbons scored on the power play to put the Stars in front 1-0.
The Storm's Jaden Schwartz would tie the game at the 19:48 mark in the first period on the power play. Brett Mohler and Josh Berge assisted on Schwartz's sixth of the season. With the goal, Schwartz now has an eight-game point streak.
Radoslav Illo would score the game-winning goal 1:35 into the second period. Illo now leads the team in goals with seven on the season, as Michael Montrose and Adam Hout picked up the assists.
Carsen Chubak (6-1-1) made 13 saves on 13 shots in the third period to earn the victory. Jared Coreau (4-7-0) made 25 saves on 27 shots receiving the loss.
The Storm on the power play was 1-7, while Lincoln was also 1-7 with the man-advantage.
The Storm will travel on the road to play two games in Sioux Falls (Friday) and Des Moines (Saturday) before returning home next Wednesday night to play Omaha.
