Game Worn Jerseys, World Series Party A Big Hit

October 30, 2009 - Midwest League (MWL) Cedar Rapids Kernels

Over 135 baseball fans braved a rainy and windy night to attend the Kernels World Series Party at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Thursday. Fans had a great time meeting A's outfield Ryan Sweeney prior to the game, and signed up for door prizes and games throughout the World Series game.

A big hit was the Kernels 2009 game-worn home jerseys, available for sale for the first time to the public. Out of the 23 jerseys on sale, 13 were purchased at the World Series Party, leaving just 10 jerseys.

The remaining 10 jerseys are available for purchase on a first-come, first-serve bases by calling Scott Wilson at (319) 896-7612 to place your order. Phone ordered jerseys are $125 each, plus tax (7%) and a $5 shipping charge and include a letter of authenticity (LOA) from the Kernels. A list of numbers, sizes and the player(s) that wore that particular jersey is attached to this release and also available at www.kernels.com.

Selected game worn jerseys will be sold on Ebay, with the auctions beginning the week of November 2nd. A list and links to the auctions will be available at www.kernels.com.

The Cedar Rapids Kernels open their ninth season in Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Thursday, April 8th at 6:35 pm against the Beloit Snappers. Season tickets are on-sale now by calling Andrea Murphy at (319) 896-7603 with individual game tickets scheduled to go on sale in mid-March. Visit www.kernels.com for more information.
