The Halifax Mooseheads announced today that their 6th Annual DND Appreciation Night will be held next Saturday, November 7th when the Herd hosts the PEI Rocket. Game time is 7pm.The Mooseheads will be honouring the men and women of our Canadian Forces by wearing specially designed jerseys with the Canadian Forces emblem on the front. The Mooseheads will also welcome the Stadacona Band who will perform the National Anthem before the game. DND members and their families will also receive a discounted $7 upper bowl ticket which can be purchased at the PSP Information Kiosk located at A Block, Stadacona..
"We've got a tremendous relationship with our Canadian Forces and look forward to this event each season", stated Brian Urquhart, Vice President Business Operations for the Mooseheads. "It's an honour for our organization and our fans to be able to pay tribute and say thanks to the men and women of the Canadian Forces".
"I know from my own experiences that serving Canadian Forces members and their families from the Halifax area appreciate the acknowledgement that the Mooseheads pay every year to the local military community, "said Ken Doucette, Canadian Forces Halifax PSP Corporate Services Director. "We're looking forward to a fun night."
The special jerseys will be used to raise funds for the QEll Foundation - Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Garden as well as the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund. An auction for 15 of these jerseys will take place on Friday, November 27th at Noon at Fleet Club Atlantic, Barrington St Halifax. Raffle tickets will be sold by DND Personnel at the game on 5 of the game worn one-of-a-kind jerseys.
