Petes Swap defencemen with Erie Otters
October 22, 2009 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL) - Peterborough Petes News Release
The Peterborough Petes have swapped defencemen with the Erie Otters sending Peterborough Minor Hockey product Derek Holden to the Otters in exchange for overage blueliner Christopher Breen and a Conditional 6th round draft pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection.
Breen, a former seventh round draft pick of the Saginaw Spirit is playing in his fifth and final OHL season. The 6 7 225lbs left defenceman from Uxbridge has played in 196 games with the Spirit and Otters recording 1 goal and 24 points with 160 minutes in penalties.
Chris brings five years of OHL experience to our blue-line. He is a bigdefenceman that will bring some character and experience to our young blueline says Petes General Manager Jeff Twohey.
It is a tough decision to make Twohey says about trading a local player, We had to make a change, and Derek was a player that the Otters expressed a real interest in.
