(York, Pa): Wednesday, October 28 will mark the first time the Philadelphia Phillies franchise has ever played in back-to-back World Series'. It will also mark the first time that back-to-back World Series' will be shown at Sovereign Bank Stadium, home of the York Revolution, on its 16' x 30' giant video board in right-center field.Boasting the biggest television in the county, Sovereign Bank Stadium will open its gates at 7 p.m. for the 8 p.m. scheduled Game One of the World Series. The bar in the White Rose Hall, located on the stadium's suite level, will be open throughout the game. Fans can expect specials on food and drinks such as wings, fries, burgers, hot dogs, Italian sausage, chicken, beer, wine, mixed drinks, and large sodas.
Before the Fightin' Phils even punched their World Series ticket on the 21st of October, Revolution management had been discussing this opportunity.
"We showed game one last year and the Phils won the whole thing," said Revolution Director of Ticketing, and delusional Phillies fan, Joe Charles. "It stands to reason that if we show it again this year, then they will get another World Series ring."
The Phillies will be playing Wednesday's game on the road away from the City of Brotherly Love. The Revolution has assumed that most Pennsylvanians do not have tickets to game one, and are hoping that Sovereign Bank Stadium is the next best thing.
"Isn't going to the ballpark the best part about a baseball game?" asked Charles. "This is a second-chance to watch a World Series game at a ballpark for free. It should be another fun party."
For a more intimate setting of the game, 3 big-screen televisions are placed in the White Rose Hall.
The World Series event is FREE to the public and open to ALL AGES. The stadium's Queen Street parking lot will also be open and free of charge. Rally Towels are welcomed.
