Sunday's Dynamo Game Highlighted By Returning International Stars

October 15, 2009 - Major League Soccer (MLS) Houston Dynamo

HOUSTON, TX (Thursday, October 15, 2009) -- International stars David Beckham and Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy) and Brian Ching, Ricardo Clark, and Stuart Holden (Houston Dynamo) are all expected to be available for Sunday's high-profile Western Conference match at Robertson Stadium. With the Galaxy and Dynamo part of a three-way tie for first place, Sunday's game, presented by Amigo Energy, is crucial for the MLS playoff picture.

All five players were on international duty in World Cup qualifying action over the last week. Beckham came on as a second-half substitute in England's 3-0 win over Belarus, setting up a goal within a minute of his introduction. He is expected to make his first appearance in Houston since coming to MLS in 2007.

Donovan, the United States' all-time leading scorer, and Holden, a Houston product, both played 90 minutes in the United States' 2-2 tie with Costa Rica on Wednesday night, while Clark and Ching were part of the U.S. squad that clinched qualification for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Tickets remain available for Sunday's game and are available at HoustonDynamo.com and all Ticketmaster outlets.

The first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive a free replica-style jersey, courtesy of Amigo Energy. Gates will open at 12:30 p.m. for the 2 p.m. kickoff, 30 minutes earlier than normal.

In each of the last two years, a sellout crowd of more than 30,000 fans attended the Dynamo's home game against the Galaxy, including last year's 3-0 Houston win that clinched first place in the Western Conference.

The Houston Dynamo are a Major League Soccer franchise that has won two MLS Cup championships in its first three seasons and qualified to represent the United States in four consecutive regional championships.
