Everblades Add Goaltender Beckford-Tseu and Forward Buck

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced the addition of goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu to the Everblades roster effective immediately. Beckford-Tseu was reassigned by the Florida Panthers from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. In addition, forward Brandon Buck makes his first appearance in Southwest Florida after being reassigned by the AHL's Houston Aeros.

Beckford-Tseu returns to Southwest Florida in 2009-10 after appearing in one game last year for the 'Blades. Currently in the second year of a two-year contract with the Florida Panthers, Beckford-Tseu was most recently with Florida's AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans.

The 6-foot-2, 201-pound goaltender began last season with the AHL's Rochester Americans, appearing in 22 games posting a 3-14-1 record with a 3.94 goals against average and .868 save percentage. The Toronto, Ontario native finished the remainder of the 2008-09 season between the pipes of the ECHL's Phoenix Roadrunners compiling a .863 save percentage in 11 games, while making 308 saves.

The 2003 St. Louis Blues fifth-round draft pick has appeared in one National Hockey League game in a St. Louis Blues sweater on February 21, 2008. He made 8 saves in 27 minutes of action.

The Everblades also added forward Brandon Buck to the roster today. Buck spent the last three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Guelph Storm. He appeared in 192 OHL regular season contests, scoring 46 goals and 80 assists for 126 points with 122 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder also averaged nearly a point a game in the OHL playoffs. In 17 playoff appearances, he scored eight goals and 13 points. Buck skated six games with the Norfolk Admirals at the end of last season chipping in two points (1-12).

To make room for Beckford-Tseu and Buck, the Everblades released forwards Jason Reese and Lee Jubinville and defenseman John Wessbecker.

The Florida Everblades begin their 12th season on the road Friday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m. from the brand new arena in Toledo, Ohio against the Walleye.
